Aside from being delicious and nutritious, the fruits and veggies we eat tend to make for great and powerful DIY face masks, capable of being just as beneficial as store bought ones, but bound to contain less of the harsher chemicals.
The star of today's recipe is Tea Tree Oil, a potent antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory oil with analgesic properties.
This oil packs a lot of power, so it is best to use minimally(1 or 2 drops is more than enough), and always diluted into something else(like water or vinegar).
(It's also important to remember to always do a patch test when trying out a new ingredient for the very first time, which means swatching it over small patch of skin, like the inside of your arm, and look out for any adverse or allergic reactions.)
Here is the full list of ingredients(and the added benefits they'll provide your skin with):
Papaya: Loaded with VITAMIN C, a naturally exfoliating enzyme called PAPAIN, and AHA's(Alpha Hydroxy Acids), other natural exfoliants.
Strawberries: Full of nail/skin/hair beautifying BIOTIN, and skin elasticity-preserving ELASTIC ACID.
Oats: Soothing and anti-inflammatory, aside from containing natural cleansing agents called SAPONINS.
Tea Tree Oil: Antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory.
Green Tea: Packed with an anti-oxidant called CATECHIN which works as powerful anti-inflammatory agent.
Take 1/4 of a Papaya, and 3 Strawberries and blend them well(you can use a blender, a food processor, or even a fork for this part).
Dilute 1-2 drops of Tea Tree Oil into 1/3 of a cup of cooled Green Tea.
Add the Green Tea/Tea Tree mix to your blended fruit, then add a tablespoon of rolled oats and stir(add less or more oats depending on your prefered consistency).
Apply to the face liberally(and neck, or decollatage, or any other areas you might desire), and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Wash off -- and enjoy your now fresh and revatialized skin
