What started as 20 families working together to empower themselves by opening a small supermarket in 1984 has transformed into one of Costa Rica's exemplary Cooperatives. 400 families are members of the Cooperative. The group owns a supermarket, hardware store, and fertilizer manufacturing plant to go with their cultivation and processing operations.
Coopeassa is a vehicle of small farmer empowerment in Costa Rica. The organization is fully committed to the social, economic, cultural and environmental development of its region.
